Purchased this as a replacement for my old mixer when the tines broke. So far, so good with this one. I've made muffins, brownies and mashed potatoes-haven't tried cookie dough yet. The swivel cord is nice and the beaters are about 1 1/2" longer than my old mixer. I like the fact that I can buy attachments (extra beaters or a whisk) in open stock. Speed control easy to access and use with thumb, beater release lever convenient but not overly sensitive. Not too heavy, either. I checked many brands and read the reviews. I found this mixer to have the right amount of power to use for small jobs. The beaters eject easily and are very easy to clean. There isn't a problem with too much power on the low speeds.

I used it today for the first time and think the other reviewers who were having problems with too much power probably didn't notice that they turned the mixer on past the first power level. The tab for changing the speed of the mixer does move easily so I'm guessing these people hadn't noticed they turned it on past the first level. So don't let them scare you off. This mixer is great at all speeds! I bought this to replace a mixer that burned up. I primarily use it to make cookies. This has more than enough power to mix up the cookies - doesn't bog down. One nice feature is the beaters are a little longer than others I've had, which keeps them from filling up with dough. I've only had it a few weeks. Hopefully this will last for years.
